Teo A. Khing Design Consultants (TAK) was born in 1993 with the establisment of an office in Singapore. In time, the the company grows to a scale of more than 500 staff members and its achievements lead to the creation of a portfolio of peer companies that will operate under the banner of 'TAK Group of Companies'. This was a time of immense global change and upheaval. The United States welcomed its 42nd President to the White House. President Bill Clinton would continue presiding over an era of evolving geopolitical relations with Russia which, under Boris Yeltsin, had formally stepped away from Communism just two years earlier. Malaysia was under the astute leadership of then Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohammed whose term was synonymous to Malaysia’s economic development and a strong advocacy for third world development. Neighbouring Singaporeans had just first elected their first president. Apartheid was being dismantled in South Africa through the joint efforts of Nelson Mandela and F.W. De Klerk. Conflicts ravaged Yugoslavia, Sri Lanka and parts of Africa and Czechoslovakia formally separated into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This was also a time of incredible technological innovation, when Intel released its Pentium microprocessor, Microsoft its Microsoft NT and the World Wide Web was created by CERN.
